The Liberals spent $4.5 MILLION to literally fund vending machines that dispensed opioids to those suffering with addiction.
The organization that received the funding, MySafe Society, was founded by BC's former Deputy Provincial Health Officer, Mark Tyndall.
According to testimony at the health committee, Mark Tyndall advocated for decriminalization and safe supply policies while serving in his government role.
Health Canada then handed this organization $4.5 million to build opioid vending machines in multiple cities through the Substance Use and Addictions Program.
When I asked Health Canada how many drugs were diverted from these machines to the street, they had no answer.
When I asked how many users recovered from addiction because of these machines, they had no answer.
In what world is it acceptable for the federal government to pay for vending machines to dispense opioids?

A big thank you to the Royal Canadian Legion #139 Williams Lake, for helping host such a fantastic Royal Canadian Navy Lunch and Learn. It was great to see the community come together to hear from Sailor First Class Nick Straub, a proud Williams Lake local, about his recent deployment aboard HMCS Max Bernays and his experiences serving our country at sea.
Events like this are a great way to connect our community with the men and women who serve Canada and to learn more about the important work of the Royal Canadian Navy.
Thanks as well to the City of Williams Lake and the Williams Lake & District Chamber of Commerce for supporting the event.

5 years ago, a gunman sprayed dozens of rounds into the Vanderhoof RCMP detachment, narrowly missing the members working inside.
The bullet holes remain as a painful reminder of that horrific day.
