I am absolutely disgusted by this. I cannot fathom how someone can protest against the ending of a genocide. Do you value Palestinian lives less?

For over a year we have been protesting against the genocide in Palestine, and calling for a ceasefire. I have seen that some Liverpool Labour councillors have stood side by side with a "counter protest for Israel" at the recent Palestine march in the city centre.

COLFC is a genuine community organisation to rival any other in the city. If they cannot meet criteria...then who on earth can?! These plans are a win-win for everyone!

In 2021 we worked hard to develop a Community Asset Transfer Policy that would unlock assets for the people of the city. By 2023 @CityofLpoolFC were on the way to doing this at Rathbone Park. Terrible to see that these plans now may not go ahead. liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool…

Listening to most politicians & journalists, you’d think the far-right sprung up overnight and are not a well-resourced, organised and ideologically-driven movement. Defeating the far-right requires refuting their very politics — by distinguishing ourselves from them —with ours.

Muslims and migrants have been demonised by the press and politicians for decades. This racist, far-right violence is the culmination of that.

This must be a turning point. The International Court of Justice has ruled against Israel, ordering it to prevent acts of genocide in Gaza. Our government must heed this judgement, ending arms sales to Israel and demanding an immediate ceasefire.

NEW: The government hid from Parliament the Foreign Office's "serious concerns" about Israel's compliance with International Humanitarian Law in Gaza, according to newly-released court papers. This should be national news – and it should end arms sales to Israel. 🧵1/12
