We've been keeping an eye on Multiplayer Ranked Play discussions and we wanted to provide some clarity regarding conversations we've seen popping up around SR losses at higher Ranks. In Black Ops 7, we made it a goal to deliver the definitive Ranked Play experience for players, and that includes ensuring that Ranked Play, and the Top 250 Leaderboard by extension, is a skill-based competitive system and not a "time-played" mode. This means we are directly combating SR inflation by having tighter expectations for players at the highest Ranks. The higher your SR, the more our systems expect you to win, with the highest Ranks and the Top 250 Leaderboard expecting win rates in the 75%+ range. Losses well above the 10k SR threshold will hurt, ensuring that players sitting high in the Top 250 are those who've demonstrated consistently high win percentages over a large number of matches during the Season. We’re watching, reading, and listening to your feedback regarding Ranked Play and the SR system. Our goal is, as always, to make sure the best players rise to the top doing what they do best: winning with competitive integrity.

The SR system currently is frustrating for sure but from what I know you lose SR based on 1. How you perform 2. How close the game was 3. Who you lost to ranked wise If you lose a ton of SR the game is trying to tell you you lost a game you shouldn’t or you should be a lower rank. I think the only exception to this is t250 where you just lose a fk ton anyway. They need to find a balance to this system cuz I do think ranks are still inflated and vary. For example I run into a lot of crim/iri players who are either good/decent or fkn clueless and make the game unwinnable. But I also see that it’s hard to climb if the SR system is too punishing. They need to find a balance cuz again not everyone should be fkn crim let alone iri. Some people complain because at the end of the day you are definitely limited by the teammates you get on ur team I agree but it can also be true that you are also just not that good. Just my two cents. Hopefully they can figure it out @LawrenceMetten

Stepping away from competitive COD. The past 10+ years have been some of, if not the best years of my life. I've met some of the most amazing and talented people throughout my career in competitive Call of Duty. This wasn't an easy decision, especially because it's been such a huge part of my life for the past decade. But as I've gotten older and times have changed, I started to drift away from the "fun" aspect of the game that I had. I really wanted to go out with a bang, and not really in the way that I did, but everything happens for a reason. I hopped back into challengers to see if I would find that spark and drive again, to get back where I felt I belonged. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case for me, and I started to feel mentally drained from it all. For me, it's time to move forward and pursue more of my dreams I have outside of competing. I want to thank my wife, my family, my friends, my teammates, my coaches and everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. Call of Duty will always be apart of me, and I'm grateful that I was able to live out my dream of being a Call of Duty Pro.. Onto the next chapter. Love.
