@MikeHarrisGolf @wallaseygolf @johnmac150 My workshop was a kitchen table with a massive unsecured vice on it. Most of the machines were away being repaired. I was involved in most of the pathway improvements with sprinklers. Onsite toilet etc etc. That was taking the club to the next level but was never posted online.

What a way to end the Tour with a game @wallaseygolf That was the best conditioned/presented course I've played in 2024. Fairways were running, greens were speedy & true. So much good work going on here led by @johnmac150 to take it to the next level. An absolute must play ⛳️

@MikeHarrisGolf @wallaseygolf @johnmac150 The greens have run fast and true for the last 15 years plus. Always been the most positive feedback from agronomists. Get a bit confused with this taking it to the next level. I had a maximum of 6 staff up till 2019. Since then staffing levels have increased to 9 plus 4 seasonal

@chrisjamped @MikeHarrisGolf @wallaseygolf @johnmac150 It’s hard to sit there, listen to all the waffle about how it’s improved in completely different circumstances. Same thing happened to me years ago. How many study days days did you go on when you worked there? If you are supposed to the best then why so many educational trips?

@MikeHarrisGolf @wallaseygolf @johnmac150 I left the course in fantastic condition at end of 2019. Held 2 British amateurs, open final qualifier, R&A British boys open along with so many other events shown on board in foyer. All a great success as confirmed by R&A. I accept with extra staff it is far more manicured.

Why whenever anyone tweets about Wallasey they always have to mention the course manager ? You don’t see it at any other club. It’s one big self promotion trip while others do the work.

@MikeHarrisGolf @wallaseygolf @johnmac150 Sorry for going on Mike but just think everyone should realise and appreciate how the club actually move on since 1992 and not just since covid. I appreciate the course is far more manicured and improving but just think of all the good work done by staff and committees. Thanks 👍

So I’d love to carry out a early spring over-seed but with price rises,it’s becoming increasingly more difficult to even cover the cost of a 2x slow release feed Is any amenity suppliers looking to put together a realistic & affordable feed &🌱seed bundle for grassroots clubs👌

Saw I clip today of some young lad being given jelly babies off a trade stand. Is this what the once great turf industry has become? Is this the best you can do to promote it ? Finger is so off the pulse from what old friends in the industry are telling me

When I was a course manager, if I’d spent as much time off work as some of these course managers these day do, I wouldn’t have lasted 40 years. Do they actually know where their course is ?

Don’t miss weekend work for lieu time one bit, especially when the bunkers ended up in a mud pile in the middle. The hours it would take to straighten them up was huge. Soon learnt that a simple GUR sign and a drive past was the best option. Let the moaners use the rules of golf
