SHE SAID YES. On my way back from the mosque during my night shift, a woman with tears 😭 dripping out of her eyes stopped me to ask for directions out of the hospital. I looked at her, something made me ask. She told me that her baby 👶🏽 died; just like that, plain words but her eyes said everything the words couldn't. Tears 😭 came down her face the way rain falls on a day that was never supposed to be sad. I didn't have anything big to offer just the next question. "Are you okay enough to get home? "She said yes. I believed her not because she wasn't broken, but because that kind of woman doesn't say yes unless she means it. She had already survived the worst part which is the hospital, the moment and the hearing of it. Home was just the next step she had to take. I watched her go. Baby 👶🏽 still on her back.
