🇭🇺 @FM_Szijjarto: It is vital for Ukraine that the Tisza Party wins the Hungarian elections. The minister reacted to remarks by @SpoxUkraineMFA Heorhii Tykhyi.
🛑 The minister stated, that Ukraine’s real concern is not transparency, but Hungary’s political reality: large crowds at Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s rallies, the massive Peace March, and recent by-election victories. The situation is that very harsh Ukrainian interference in the Hungarian election is continuing, he said.
⚡ He warned that Ukraine sees a Tisza Party victory as opening the path to EU accession, drawing Hungary into the war, and redirecting Hungarian funds. He added that losing cheap Russian energy would triple household utility costs. Hungary is the country of Hungarians, only we, the Hungarians, can decide about its future. Let us all be there on April 12!

According to reporting by The Washington Post, Russian intelligence (SVR) went as far in its plans to intervene in the Hungarian elections as to consider staging a fake assassination attempt against Viktor Orbán to reshape the campaign and boost his declining support.
Additionally, European security officials say Hungary has, for years, provided Russia with direct insight into EU decision-making. During breaks in EU meetings, the current foreign minister of Hungary reportedly made regular calls to Sergey Lavrov, giving real-time briefings on discussions and possible outcomes. In practice, this meant that Moscow was effectively receiving live updates during EU deliberations.
This will end on April 12th.
