Proud of our local U.S. Rep who has been pushing the safety of the U.S. forward…including Israel defending itself against Iran, most recently since before Thanksgiving. The past two days are the result of regressive behavior and promises by now-former Iranian leaders. Onward.

I got to kick off my morning by visiting with pilots from the Israeli Defense Force. I congratulated them on their successful strikes against Iran using the U.S. built F-35 and thanked them, as well as the people of Ukraine, for their courage in defending their nations against existential threats. America is stronger when our allies are strong.

This is a big win for the Texas Rangers if we are truly chasing a win-now window. That’s a big IF and I hope it’s not just an if…but…the lineup still lacks fewer “ifs” than 2025 and we still don’t have a legit closer. But Gore could be huge for the rotation.

Full trade, per ESPN sources: Rangers get: LHP MacKenzie Gore Nationals get: 3B Gavin Fien, SS Devin Fitz-Gerald, RHP Alejandro Rosario, 1B Abimelec Ortiz and and OF Yeremy Cabrera A big return for the Nationals. Fien was the 12th pick last year. Evaluators love Fitz-Gerald.

Myles Garrett is the GOAT. Official. Hang his 95 in the rafters. The Cleveland Browns ended the season on a 2-game win streak for the first time since 2007 (10-6, missed the playoffs). W hurts the draft but I guess it’s noteworthy. Offense stinks. We need OL & WR. A lot of ‘em.

Sam Petersen jumped Jess Pope in the NFR Average about a minute before Rocker Steiner climbed aboard Calgary Stampede’s Disco Party and suddenly Steiner needed a check to win the World Title. He delivered with a 90.5-point ride, the best ride of his NFR career, and stood in the arena arms out taking in the moment as tears started to slowly roll down his face. This was the moment he’d be destined for since he was a teenager, joining his father Sid and grandfather Bobby as PRCA World Champions. He finished with a record $507,532.59 to set a new single season earnings record. “I wanted my family to know their son was the best at something,” Steiner said. “I just want my family to know they had a son who worked as hard as possibly he could and never gave up, I think I finally gave it to ‘em.”
