MLB doing the same shit the NHL did. Forcing players to wear things for causes they don’t want to wear. It’ll end the same - with the league eventually telling the teams to stop.
The Athletic@TheAthletic

Several Giants players wrote Bible verses on their caps to respond to Pride Night. The gesture echoed a familiar pattern: making a night meant for inclusion about something else entirely. Read more for free, from @GrantBrisbee: nyti.ms/3Q23q8J

@TheSaurus831 Sorry man. Both Gregory Peck and Robert Mitchum had cameos in the Scorsese version. Juliette Lewis being in the new one continues that trend. They aren't the same films, I think your intellect can handle it

@CynicalPublius I’m calling for equal bitching time for gun owners, we are attacked every day on the mainstream media while no such thing happens to the rainbow thieves. They’d post toasty if we had a yearly parade showing them off 💀

Maybe you don't follow baseball, but there is a big controversy now because it was "Pride Night" in San Francisco the other night, the SF Giants' players were supposed to wear caps where the "SF" logo (normally in orange) was instead in rainbow colors, and several of the pitchers wrote Biblical verses on their hats next to the rainbow "SF." Predictably, the SF crowd is apoplectic, labeling these players "bigots" and "homophobes." Query: when your employer forces you to wear imagery that is abhorrent to your deeply-held, long-established religious beliefs, who is the "bigot"? (And don't tell me "Well then they shouldn't be in MLB," because you are saying you must abandon your religion to work.) It's the complaining LGBTQ+ crowd who are the "bigots" in this case.

No, it’s not “Pride Month.” Not for me, and not for millions of others. You’re welcome to be proud of whatever you want, in any month you like—because this is America. But what started in 1969 as a rebellion against persecution, morphed into a license for public depravity, and then morphed again into a weapon aimed at families and innocent children. Along the way it went from a day, to a week, and then a month and became official, and thereby effectively mandatory for all. Enough! If you’re gay and wondering why you are facing resistance now, the answer is that, with few exceptions, most of you didn’t stand up against the expansion and weaponization of “pride,” and the coercion that went with it. In that failure to resist, the gay community compromised any expectation that the rest of us should support “pride” at all, but especially the obscene display of hostility toward civilization and the families of which it is built, and for whom it exists. If your hackles are raised by the idea that civilization is about families, realize that families are how civilizations persist through time. Not everyone needs to form one, but we all must respect and protect them—It is the foundation of what it means to be civilized. For the small fraction of gays and lesbians who DID courageously stand up and resist expansion, coercion and the weaponization of “Pride,” I stand with you, and I have all along. But I won’t be celebrating, and I won’t be silent. It’s not too late to join the voices of reason and to confront the insanity of what “pride” has become.

@fuzzyyarns What kind of ass-kissing, shoe-horned bullshit is this? He sucks and you're just a try hard fanboy. Its cute how you attack pathetic Nolan-stans, then do it more grotesquely for what seems to be your childhood idol

I remember watching ARRIVAL in 2016 & thinking this dreck would be a great movie if Spielberg directed it. DISCLOSURE DAY vindicated me 10 years later.

Problem with Disclosure Day is Spielberg’s a world-class storyteller but just an intensely shallow person and not a remotely interesting thinker. Which can be fine. Delightful even! Except that he insists on putting in these scenes in which people philosophize about “ideas.” Every time there’s an action sequence or a set piece you’re watching a master at work. Then every time they start discussing what it’s “about” the whole thing grinds to a halt and it gets unimaginably corny. Like middle school stuff written and delivered like its wisdom of exquisite profundity. Kinda sad to see a beloved creator reach so drastically outside his sweet spot.

Saying you’re not interested in seeing Disclosure Day in theaters and people getting weirdly huffy about it. I had no idea I wasn’t allowed to say no to Spielberg or aliens. 😆🤭

I’m sorry, but Nolan, Spielberg, and any other filmmaker championing the theatrical experience needs to visit a theater outside of New York and LA and see the state 99% of them are in. I say this as somebody who goes every week, but the situation is bleak.
