JD VANCE: With no disrespect to the cardinal, I don't know who Cardinal Christophe Pierre is REPORTER: He's the ambassador to the Holy Sea and US VANCE: Okay, I've met him before. Sorry. I just didn't remember the name. I've never seen this reporting. I'd like to talk to him.

NEW: A stunning new report claims that the Pentagon summoned Pope Leo XIV’s top American diplomat and threatened him after the U.S.-born pontiff gave his January state-of-the-world address. Leo used the address to denounce a world ruled by “a diplomacy based on force” and “zeal for war.” thelettersfromleo.com/p/the-pentagon…

JD Vance: "Even until yesterday, I didn't even know that Zelensky said he was going to send soldiers to Orbán's residence. Viktor himself told me about it, and then I went and checked. I couldn't believe it was true, but it is true." x.com/grntmedia/stat…

This morning, I asked President Trump if he’s okay with the Iranians charging a toll for all ships that go through the Strait of Hormuz, he told me there may be a Joint US-Iran venture to charge tolls: “We’re thinking of doing it as a joint venture. It’s a way of securing it — also securing it from lots of other people.” “It’s a beautiful thing”

*many people are saying* it sure looks like the White House wrote this for Pakistan’s PM, who posted it then quickly deleted the top part 😬

It is unfortunate that the UN Security Council has once again failed to demonstrate effectiveness and act decisively in the face of such a global threat as the Iranian regime's blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. No one should be allowed to block such globally significant sea lanes or undermine the security of dozens of nations through terrorist attacks against the freedom of navigation. We faced a similar challenge in the Black Sea when the Russians attempted to block our ports and civilian shipping—Russia was trying to suffocate our economy. And we found a way to solve that problem through decisive action, not inaction. Now, we see a similar problem on a global scale. The Strait of Hormuz must remain open to all vessels that sustain vital economy lifelines and maintain normal international trade. Countries in the region have spoken clearly on this, and we support the aspirations of the people of the Middle East and the Gulf for peace. Peace and security in this region directly impact stability, market predictability, and the cost of living in every single country. Such problems and this war must not be prolonged. The world needs a functional UNSC that acts more decisively to resolve acute security challenges of global magnitude.

🔴 Ukrainian forces used British drones to destroy a Russian-held bridge over the River Dnipro in a breakthrough operation that will shape the future of warfare. This is how warfare will change 👇 telegraph.co.uk/world-news/202…

This is truly unprecedented. A vice president of the United States wading hip deep in another country's election. And he is doing it on behalf of Viktor Orban, the autocratic prime minister of Hungary, whose efforts to gut democracy there were a template for @realDonaldTrump's here.
