Before someone is allowed to post on social media, they should be able to pass a test on their ability to discern what is true and what is false. If they fail, they have to take a course on source evaluation & misleading framing.

Almost every sentence here is wrong Wind farms allow farming to continue around them, their land footprint is small, &they produce the cheapest new electricity available Turbines are steel, concrete & copper, & much is reusable or recyclable Calling it a scam doesn’t make it one.

It is clear that for both private & industrial transport in Australia to become energy independent, we need to electrify—& exponentially so. This is not about politics, climate change, feelings or ideology. It is rational pragmatism. We have rare earths, wind, sun and water!

This may offend some of you, but if there is any specific demographic of people that I am really starting to dislike with prejudice, it’s European men. Apart from those of you the pond who appreciate my work (and I appreciate you!), y’all are unfortunately drowned out by the noise from the sheer volume of smug, effeminate male intellectuals who reply to me every day that exude a nasty superiority complex. It’s really not attractive, and it is starting to sour my once positive opinion on Europeans collectively. I am becoming a bit embarrassed that my ancestors were European. I don’t get the level of trolls and hate mail from Americans, Canadians, Australians, Hispanics, or Asians, and I have followers from all over the world.

My husby and I went out to dinner last night, and the bill came out to $200. I left a $50 tip on the table, thinking that was pretty reasonable. But the waiter looked at it and flat-out refused to take it. ​He told us that if we weren’t willing to leave at least $85, we shouldn’t be eating out in the first place. ​I was honestly caught off guard. I felt embarrassed sitting there, like we’d done something wrong. We weren’t trying to be cheap or disrespectful — I genuinely thought $50 was a fair tip for that bill. Master carpenter trainee here. Customer is upset because I correctly installed the fence around the tree instead of cutting it down, and now I’m being told it “looks wrong” and “wasn’t what they expected,” even though this is literally how fences are supposed to be built when there’s a mature tree in the property line. The fence is straight, level, code-compliant, and allows for future tree growth — but somehow that’s a problem because it’s not a perfect rectangle. Apparently the expectation was for me to defy biology and geometry at the same time. I explained that trees grow, fences don’t, and this prevents future damage, but they’re convinced it’s lazy or unprofessional despite it being the textbook correct install. Now they want it redone even though nothing is wrong other than their personal feelings. Love when a job is done right and the only issue is the customer googled for 30 seconds and decided they know more than the person who built it. Credit - ikhlas

When no observation could ever change a position, you’re not debating facts - you’re engaging with a belief system.
