It feels like every day that goes by is another spot Darryn Peterson drops in the “ experts “ mock drafts. I am not a NBA scout or Adam Sandler in Hustle, but I know what I saw this year in college basketball. I saw a 6’6 scoring guard who was unstoppable at all 3 levels and never had an issue on the defensive side of the ball being aided by his 6’11 wingspan. This is a talent that can change a franchise’s direction over night and I would hate to be a fan of a team who passed on a player like this. Cramping? Missed games? It’s fine if thats a red flag to you but don’t take a 6 month stretch of a 19 year olds health dictate the position of your franchise for the next decade.

@protestabloc Agree to disagree. Not saying Tiago did a bad job but as someone who watched every game this season, it was obvious that he wasn’t the guy going forward.

@TwoForOneTalk Took over a team whos coach was publicly arrested after Game 1. Had the 2nd most injuries & 3rd toughest schedule. Went 3 months with Caleb love as the only point guard & still somehow made the 7th seed. Then actually won a playoff game against the DPOY & MVP. Helluva babysitter

If I could choose anyone to become the future coach of the Blazers, the hat I would throw in the ring would be Rajon Rondo. Being a former All-Star and All-Defensive guard, some regard Rondo as one of the wisest minds the sport has ever seen. He would have a complete understanding of both sides of the ball and how to take this team to the next level of competing. Being on Milwaukee’s coaching staff since 2022, Rondo has gotten to learn the inner workings of coaching and probably picked up a couple lessons of “what not to do” from their recent coaching situation. Rondo would also be a first time head coach, which could play into Tom Dundon's favor in contract negotiations all the while allowing a young coach who played in this generation to demonstrate his expertise to a young roster. It is not a complete rarity for a coach to find success in their first head coaching job, so with that in mind, would you take a chance on Rajon Rondo? #RipCity

@protestabloc I don’t think the reason was lack of experience, in all honesty it felt like Tiago was a babysitter at times instead of a coach.

@TwoForOneTalk So get rid of a first time coach for lack of experience to hire another guy with even less experience?

Its really been unfortunate with Shaedon, the skills have improved since being drafted yet it feels like he cant have 2 correct decisions in a row. Making yourself unplayable in the playoffs with his skillset and athleticism is a really bad look but hopefully it motivates him this summer.

@TwoForOneTalk I agree. I’m just very surprised what happened with Shaedon Sharpe… thought he’d provide more for the Trailblazers at this point.

Well, Joe Cronin — this is what they pay you the big bucks for. No head coach. No draft picks. Great assets at your disposal. Not to mention a young and hungry team ready to take the next step. Cronin has done a great job to get the team to this point, yet this is an offseason that can make or break the franchise for not only the season to come but for further seasons down the line. Show us what you got. #RipCity

As of right now the only clear untouchable to me is Deni, off talent + contract and Dame because hes Dame. Scoot is a player I don’t think should be traded under any means. Clingan would take alot to move but I wouldn’t say untouchable. Everyone else to me is moveable without too much remorse.

@TwoForOneTalk @FivestxrNBA Rondo would be perfect imo, he knows all the rules and how to run a offense successfully. And he can also throw hands that’s a huge plus

Good question! My main thing I wanna see is a big swing for a true star. Could that be an offseason acquisition? Yes, but i’m not totally against waiting out even into the season to see where teams are at. We have the contracts, young talent, and draft picks to unlock some big names and the trade landscape is the only place I think a market like Portland can acquire talent at this moment.

@aka_lynchy Genuinely not opposed to it at all, would make us really buy in to being a defensive minded team.

The Blazers are expected to go to great lengths and many candidates in their coaching search, with assistant coaches and college coaches viewed as the most likely outcome. But what if the right coach for this team is already a head coach in the NBA? It’s rare, but not completely unprecedented for teams to pursue employed head coaches. In 2013, Doc Rivers was traded from Boston to the Clippers for an unprotected first-round pick, while Jason Kidd was traded from Brooklyn to Milwaukee for two second-round picks and cash. More recently, during their 2025 coaching search, the Knicks reached out to several current NBA head coaches — Quin Snyder, Billy Donovan, Jason Kidd, Ime Udoka, and Chris Finch — but were denied permission to speak with all of them. Not a likely scenario in any means for Portland, especially under the new ownership of Tom Dundon. Yet an interesting concept to say the least. Is there any current head coach in the NBA you think would be worth the gamble? Let me know. #RipCity

With the news being reported today that Tiago Splitter is unlikely to retain his position as the head coach the Portland Trail Blazers, the team plans on interviewing up to 30 potential candidates for the position. Thoughts #RipCity? Is there any coach in particular you want for the job?
