SNEAKY FRIDAY SEVERE RISK: I know I've posted about a potential risk of severe weather on Sunday, but we have a risk to watch TOMORROW. There is now a level 1-of-5 risk for severe thunderstorms for a large portion of Ohio and adjacent Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.

Well would ya look at that. Hi-res guidance is suggesting a sneaky strong to severe storm risk Friday afternoon and evening here in Ohio. We'll have to see how things look through the day today; it certainly needs to be watched! #OHwx

Machine-learning and analog-based guidance is hinting at a chance for a few strong to severe thunderstorms Sunday into Sunday night. It doesn't look significant at this point, just a low-end threat. Worth monitoring for sure though for Ohio and vicinity.

I'm watching Sunday for a potential severe weather setup in the Ohio Valley vicinity. In general, the threat hasn't seemed substantial among the various models. Today's 18z EURO was a little more bullish. Some machine-learning guidance is picking up on at least a low risk.

A 6-foot wide meteor weighing 7 tons and traveling at 45,000 mph exploded over NE Ohio just before 9am. It produced a very loud boom, which this doorbell camera caught! Due to the fragmenting, smaller meteorites were deposited in Medina County! ☄️ 📹: Misty Klingmann

#MeteorSighting: A very bright daylight fireball was observed by witnesses from the northeast U.S. and Canada this morning, March 17. An analysis of currently available data places first visibility of the meteor above Lake Erie. The fireball - caused by a small asteroid nearly 6 feet in diameter and weighing about 7 tons - moved southeast at 45,000 mph before fragmenting over Valley City. This video shows what NWS Cleveland is calling a meteor that caused the loud boom that was heard throughout the NE Ohio region early this morning. The boom occurred shortly before 9 a.m., which reports on social media show was heard for over 30 miles.

We've got some road issues out there this evening as heavy snow showers pass through. The loss of daylight is allowing the snow to stick and cause big problems. Please be careful if you're out tonight. #OHwx
