The day before commencement in May, nine students and their family and friends gathered in the Joe Crowley Student Union for a pinning ceremony. The students would be graduating from an undergraduate program in the @UNRScience Department of Psychology accredited by the Association for Behavior Analysis International. Behavior analysis is a field that seeks to understand why people behave as they do. bit.ly/3HxHFJE

Last spring, the @UNRScience Strategic Plan Committee finalized the College’s latest strategic plan, spanning from 2025-2030. The committee, co-chaired by Professor Annie Leonard and Teaching Associate Professor Diana Moss, identified four areas of focus, each associated with goals, gaps and solutions to address those gaps and achieve identified goals. bit.ly/4lLPY2c

Drew Haebler is an undergraduate researcher set to graduate in Dec. 2025 with a @UNRScience degree in biology. After graduation, he plans to complete a graduate certificate in One Health before attending veterinary school. Learn how to get involved with research as an undergrad.

Richard “Dick” Tracy, an emeritus professor in the Department of Biology in @UNRScience, was recently named a 2025 Fellow of the Ecological Society of America. The Ecological Society of America’s fellows are recognized for their contributions to advancing or applying ecological knowledge. bit.ly/4eME4Do

In early June, Sergey Varganov, a professor in the Department of Chemistry at @UNRScience, found out his application to the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program was successful. This prestigious award allows researchers to travel to another country to establish new collaborations or advance existing collaborations with international colleagues. Varganov will take a sabbatical in the 2025-2026 academic year and visit Brazil in the fall semester. bit.ly/3GwiNBx
