After years of telling everybody else how to run the country and months of deliberation, I have a special announcement: I’m running for President of the United States in 2028. I am aware of what happened the last time I worked in the White House. But I do believe I can help guide this country in the right direction. Join me and help me heal America. Mooch 2028 🇺🇸

Since Michael B. Jordan won the Best Actor Oscar for SINNERS at last night’s Academy Awards, it’s worth mentioning that he was great in the first thing I ever saw him in too—NBC’s FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS. That show doesn’t get nearly the love or attention it deserves, so seek it out if you can. I think you’ll dig it. Clear eyes, full hearts. @michaelb4jordan

Hi to fellow writers. In my 2nd thriller, The Defector, a key technology for the plot is nuclear thermal rockets. They're a real thing, tested in the 1960s/70s at Jackass Flats NV, and being developed now for long distance/duration space travel. This @GovNuclear video shows how they work. I most enjoy writing when the fiction is so close to fact that it's hard to tell the difference. But it takes a LOT of work to get all the details right. Great fun. Deeply into research now for the 4th book in the Apollo Murders series. chrishadfield.ca/books/

@amnesty International says people in North Korea are being publicly executed for watching South Korean TV shows including Squid Game. Children are sometimes forced to witness these executions carried out for these “crimes”.

To comment a little more thoroughly on this story, TV manufacturers are always looking for the next big thing. But in the same way we haven't really moved past the smartphone form factor for a decade (despite all the talk of wearables and foldables), flat panel TVs have reached peak consumer utility: Fast, 4K quality, perfect size, etc. Nobody really needs more than 4K resolution outside of serious industrial professionals (NASA, medical & satellite imaging, film remastering, etc). I know some TV makers really wanted to push toward 4K autostereoscopic 3-D (as well as 8K), but that requires a LOT more cheap processing power per display. And most available chip production is now being directed towards AI. So the reality is, consumer displays have simply hit a technological plateau that we're going to live with for a decade or two.

“The TV industry finally concedes that the future may not be in 8K” LOL. You think? @thedigitalbits arstechnica.com/gadgets/2026/0…

Lord Mandelson's emails to Jeffrey Epstein: * He told Epstein that he had finally persuaded Gordon Brown to stand down and leave No 10 five hours before it became wider public knowledge * He forwarded him an email sent to Gordon Brown disclosing govt was considering selling assets to reduce govt debt. Brown later followed through on the advice * The same email included sensitive discussions on tax policy - tax relief for businesses, potential flagship electoral pledges on tax * Mandelson also gave Epstein advance notice of a €500billion bailout of the Eurozone - he emailed him then spoke to him about it on eve of the announcement * Another email he forwarded looked at how to bolster business lending in wake of financial crisis and included excoriating criticism of Mervyn King

Moon rocket about to get fuelled. @nasa is making the decision if the Florida weather is warm enough and the systems are GO to start pumping liquid hydrogen & oxygen into Artemis. Expect leaks and problems, but if all gets solved, the crew of 4 will launch for the Moon on Sunday night. A whole new era as we transition fom exploration to settlement.
