The case will be going to a hearing, scheduled for early July. We will not know the vote results and therefore not have a union until at least then. Instead of giving us the chance to negotiate a fair deal, Laurier is spending our tuition dollars on union-busting lawyers. (4/4)

We know Laurier doesn’t really have a case and thought they would drop it immediately. Things didn’t pan out that way. Laurier’s lawyers are sticking to their guns and the ballot box will not be opened until both parties or the OLRB agree on what an IA is. (3/4)

Laurier is arguing that Markers and Proctors are also considered Undergraduate Instructional Assistants. The matter will be settled at the Ontario Labour Relations Board. The OLRB has sealed the ballot box until parties agree on the bargaining unit
