@wischlist I got tricked by this last year. Illini came out hot in the first game, then bricked every 3 against KY. Only saving grace is we play a mediocre VCU team tomorrow. I won’t be convinced we are even close to a FF run until we learn how to close out a good team.

Amongst the corniest things I’ve heard used as motivational material by a player, this is near the top of the list. He choked in crunch time, missed key free throws & threw the ball away.

VCU’s entire starting group, sixth man and coach from last year’s NCAA tournament game are all gone and the Rams just beat North Carolina in this year’s tournament to advance to the round of 32. Crazy.

Phil loves his son. 😂 Beating UNC is big. It’s probably the best 1st year VCU coaching performance with Anthony Grant beating Duke in his first year also being in that conversation.
For me the biggest W has to be VCU beating Kansas in the Elite 8 to go to the Final Four though.
