Joe Schoen wouldn’t have to worry about getting strong armed by Dexter Lawrence if he built a talented team. The Seahawks can trade a guy like Dex away and not lose any sleep.
But he didn’t. The Giants are disgustingly untalented and will be even less talented without Dex, resulting in yet another abysmal defense.
Way to go Joe! Always step forward, two steps back.

The Giants and Dexter Lawrence are not at an impasse. The situation is more dire than that:
The contract negotiations between the team and Lawrence’s camp have “broken off,” sources tell the Daily News.

Not good! Dex loses 2 of his best friends from the team, they go on to win Super Bowls and get paid. Dex in 2023 is the 3rd highest paid DT in the league, now he’s the 12th and has $0 guaranteed money left in his final two years. Find a way to make it work IF Dex wants to be here

#Giants of the last 4 years have been really tuned in to narratives and optics and messaging. I don't see how they "win" Dexter Lawrence trade. It's going to set off the list of all the homegrown players who go elsewhere and hit it big. There's an obvious price tag: $28-$30M

Sources have expressed to me that Joe Schoen is still trying to find his footing amid his revised role under a John Harbaugh led building.
Particularly as we head into the draft. It’s clear this is the Harbaugh show and there is uncertainty in how roles will play out come draft time.
Yes they meet & have a collaborative relationship but Harbaugh is the one in charge.
There is an expectation that more organizational changes could be on the way as Harbaugh continues to execute his vision with the Giants.
As for the draft: can confirm the Cowboys interest in wanting to move up.
