@TheCartelDel But I also understand that these are things that are non-negotiable to the modern gamer/investor. That you can't have a modern game without that.

@TheCartelDel It's crazy how much the cost is in stuff I don't care about and is probably why I don't really fw modern games. Full facial mocap? Character models that are so detailed it takes months to make them? I don't even like fully voiced games, its annoying.

Honestly this is probably correct, and that's what makes me so frustrated. It's going to be normalized the same as the last 5+ years of dumb bullshit in graphics tech, which is only just starting to provide a semblance of improvement for the massive resources it demands.
