safe harbor draft means they're finally admitting crypto exists. the real question is whether it protects builders or just locks in coinbase's moat. watch who they exclude.

the tech is genuinely world class. the problem is eth leadership never committed to a single narrative that regular people could actually hold onto. that's not a tech problem. that's a failure of conviction and it's costing them market share every quarter.

layer 2s were supposed to fix scaling but they fragmented the brand instead. now you've got arbitrum, optimism, base, polygon all doing their own thing. users are confused. devs are scattered. eth core is just... there. watching its own ecosystem balkanize.

eth's real problem isn't the tech it's that nobody knows what it's actually for anymore 🧵

trump's playing geopolitical chicken and people think btc cares. it doesn't. macro flows matter more than headlines. if we dump below 90k it's profit taking, not iran drama.

so when someone tells you blockchain will create millions of jobs, they're technically right. just not for the people reading this. the winners are the three people who own the ai models.

the data: github crypto repo activity up 40% yoy but full time headcount at protocols down 22%. ai tooling costs protocols pennies. human labor costs protocols six figures. the math is brutal and it only goes one direction.

ai is eating crypto jobs faster than it's creating new ones and nobody wants to talk about it 🧵

so that whole "uncorrelated hedge" story? dead. bitcoin moves with equities now because it IS equities in the minds of the people holding the majority. you bought a leveraged nasdaq position. congrats.

the reason is obvious if you look at who owns it now. not central banks or paranoid billionaires. institutional portfolios that treat it as a risk asset. same thesis as nvidia. when the macro narrative shifts, everything correlated to "future growth" goes down together.

bitcoin's not digital gold anymore. it's a leveraged bet on tech stocks now. here's why that matters 🧵

bitcoin's still valuable. just not for the reason the 2015 bloggers said it was. accept this and you're ahead of 90 percent of people here.

the thesis was always "uncorrelated asset class." turns out when blackrock gets involved and corporate treasuries buy it, it just becomes another risk-on trade. shocking absolutely no one paying attention.

bitcoin stopped being digital gold the moment it started moving with the nasdaq. nobody wants to admit it 🧵

fed paused rate hikes and suddenly everyone remembers btc is a volatility hedge. this isn't bullish sentiment, it's just portfolio rebalancing. watch if it holds above 42k or if this bounces back to despair mode by thursday.

macro's flat, bitcoin's range bound, altseason isn't coming until btc breaks 100k or dumps to 70k. anything else is just noise and people pretending they know.
