@athena4lynn I tried the IUD to lessen blood loss, but it didn't work. I had zero problems with the IUD, but wish I just went straight to partial hysterectomy.
In answer to my unstated question: yes, the $80 COVID test I just found online was the price for ONE TEST.
(I am just exploring Canadian options. We're all good here.)
My therapist literally told me yesterday to stop being so hard on myself but guys? I'm such a moron. My back is so burnt. I knew it would happen, snd I still didn't put sunscreen on. So fucking stupid.
Pale Blue Dot is a photo of Earth that was taken by the Voyager 1 space probe in 1990 from a distance of about 6 billion kilometers (3.7 billion miles) as it was leaving our solar system. This is what Carl Sagan said about the photo:
"Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it, everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their lives. The aggregate of our joy and suffering, thousands of confident religions, ideologies, and economic doctrines, every hunter and forager, every hero and coward, every creator and destroyer of civilization, every king and peasant, every young couple in love, every mother and father, hopeful child, inventor, and explorer, every teacher of morals, every corrupt politician, every 'superstar,' every 'supreme leader,' every saint and sinner in the history of our species lived there — on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.
The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand. It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known.”
@levacas Not even 24hrs after my Mom received terminal diagnosis, a Dr. decided that it would a good idea to say to me and my mom, that if my mom had only come to the Dr earlier than she would have beat cancer and then said to me you better get yourself checked.
If somebody tells you they have cancer, the absolute WRONG thing to say is, "oh man, you'd better get your kids checked out. That's hereditary." Like, thanks Kathy I hadn't already thought about the future of my children's health.
I mean, the good news about these random calf cramps I’m getting on walks is that pushing through the pain is getting my heart rate up.
The bad news is calf cramps! Why?!
Wife’s birthday on Monday.
I have booked us a table at a #ldnont restaurant, and just asked them if they have anything that they can do to make the table “a bit more romantic”.
…..”Eeerrrm….. We have deep fried ice cream….??”.
💀🤣
Wait. What do people do at wedding showers?! I don’t even know! It’s been too long. I am unprepared!
(I am not really freaking out, just being dramatic)
@athena4lynn I, through no fault of my own, work for a Telus company. My employee discount is the same as what I pay through Koodo, another Telus company. 🤦♀️
A month ago I told my husband I would finally sit down and watch the lord of the rings if he did a hobbit day, he had to come up with a menu and cooking for a day of all the hobbit meals as we watched the movies. So this is how tomorrow looks for me
