@Colin802783958 Personally, I wouldn't sell any hard assets just yet as it would trigger a gains tax event (which is currently far too high). At least wait until a sane time to do so and/or also consider leaving the country.

I'm early Gen X, few years off stage pension yet. If I sell my house to release equity, that's about £100k - or around 8 years income. I'll move into a 1 or 2 bed. Problem with that is I'll now be in first time buyer's housing stock. Damned if I do, damned if I don't.
