2/7 Using a large (n = 863), multimodal, multi-intervention clinical imaging dataset, we applied precision functional mapping and found that key subcortical nuclei in Parkinson’s disease—including the SN, STN, VIM/CM, GPi, GPe, and putamen—are preferentially linked to the SCAN.

Most blood proteomics analyses of human disease focus on a single disease endpoint missing assessment of specificity. This analysis of 8,262 individuals across 59 diseases offers an atlas of Olink proteomic signatures across the disease spectrum.

Now online - - had great fun thinking about this with colleagues from Shanghai! nature.com/articles/s4422… "brain-based heterogeneity is not a static feature; it is more pronounced at the onset of the disorder but reduced over the long term"
Lena K. Palaniyappan@lena_pl

Heterogeneity appears to be mutable and 'front-loaded' in the course of schizophrenia; anatomical variability is high early on, but converges to be more predictable in the established phase medrxiv.org/content/10.110…

Interesting reads on genetics, omics, & precision medicine from this week👇 1⃣A distribution atlas of the human proteome There is constant influx and efflux of proteins between the plasma and surrounding organs and cells. Applying proteomics in 18 organs & 8 blood cell types and integrating it with existing RNA/protein atlases, this study maps the tissue/cell origin of each plasma protein! 👉A foundational resource for discovering specific circulating signatures of organ pathologies. 🔗cell.com/cell/fulltext/…
