Vaccines protect people at every stage of life: from a child’s first days through adulthood and beyond. In early childhood, immune systems are still developing, leaving young children more vulnerable to serious illness. That’s why most routine vaccines are given in the first two years of life, offering protection when it matters most. As children grow into their teenage years, booster doses help keep that protection strong and respond to new and emerging health risks. During pregnancy, vaccination plays a crucial role in protecting both parent and baby. Recommended vaccines help pass protective antibodies to babies before birth, giving them a safer start in life. In adulthood and older age, the immune system naturally becomes less robust. Vaccines help reduce the risk of severe illness and hospitalization, helping people stay healthy and live longer. Vaccination is about care, prevention and giving every generation the chance to learn, grow and thrive bit.ly/4mH2HWi #VaccinesWork #WorldImmunizationWeek

#Malaria doesn’t wait. When funding falls and programmes weaken, it comes back fast, killing hundreds of thousands more children and reversing hard-won gains. Underinvestment threatens economic growth, strains health systems, and puts a generation at risk. Sustain investment. Protect progress. Save lives. #EndMalaria Know more: bit.ly/4ewj1XF

It’s #WorldMalaria Day Science is moving fast and for the first time, #EndMalaria is within reach. New vaccines, treatments, malaria control tools, and pioneering technologies, including genetic modification of mosquitoes and long-acting injectables, are in development. Already, 25 countries are rolling out malaria vaccines to target 10 million children a year. New generation mosquito nets now make up most nets in use. Countries are leading the way. Together for health. #StandWithScience

For centuries, malaria has stolen children from their parents. And stolen health and wealth from communities. Ending malaria in our lifetime is a real possibility. On #WorldMalariaDay, I call for governments and partners to expand access to vaccines, next-generation nets and effective medicines to end malaria.

Today is #WorldMalariaDay Did you know only the female Anopheles mosquito can transmit #malaria? They need blood 🩸 to lay their eggs and that’s how the parasite spreads to humans. Here are 3 things to know: 🌙 They usually bite in the evening or at night often while you’re sleeping 💧 They breed close to home in water like ponds, puddles and rice fields 🦟 When they rest on a wall, their abdomen sticks up like a handstand Learn more: bit.ly/4ewj1XF #EndMalaria
