Wisconsin extended an offer to Winneconne (WI) senior Brody Schaffer this week. Schaffer plays QB & DB for the Wolves but committed to Iowa as a receiver. Wisconsin offered as a defensive back. #wisfb

When he asks how he played or what he can do then I engage. Parents your sons or daughters need to figure it out for themselves. Im a firm believer in taking that step back and their experiences help them grow

I learned valuable lessons years ago and it took me until my sons senior year to just watch and appreciate how he developed!

The best 7 days of the year for High School Lacrosse are upon us. Players, coaches, parents—enjoy it. Play hard. Compete. Players: Take in every moment—the practices, the bus ride, the team dinner. Win or lose, those are the memories that stay with you. Parents: Make it about your son. Cheer him on, be present, and help him walk away with memories he'll cherish. Coaches: You do you—but remember, tomorrow isn’t guaranteed. Soak it in, too. Quick story: June 2018. Rice vs. CC. My son was a senior. At the time, I was going through a tough stretch—stressed, distracted, and not in the best headspace. CC won that day, and I let the loss blend with everything else I was carrying. There was no scene, no outburst—just an internal battle that lasted all day and into the night. Looking back, it’s not the score that sticks with me—it’s the fact that I didn’t allow myself to fully enjoy the moment. That said, I’ve come to realize something important: I needed that day. It taught me a lesson I can now pass on to others. So while it wasn’t a day I look back on fondly, it was a necessary step in becoming who I am today. So here’s my advice: Don’t waste these days. Enjoy the games, the practices, the parties, the people. And most importantly—the moments.

I know HS lacrosse season is close when USA Lacrosse puts out its Midwest rankings w/ : Academies 1 & 2, followed by every defending state champ with a sprinkle of finals runner up & a blue blood. They have no idea about THIS years teams.

@LaxLocy Exactly why I enjoy high school over summer/fall club sports. The students/parents support and cheer their classmates/children. The atmosphere is pure and full of passion forbthier school

Every HS sporting event is enhanced by students & alum showing up. Support classmates comittment to team & school. It shouldn’t matter if they are tops in the state or winless. Support your school, it matters to them & it should to you.

@NitemareFabLlyr @WiscoClothingCo Did Chryst ever take UW to a playoff. He could never beat OSU to get there. This isn't about going to mediocre bowl games. It's about getting to the playoffs. Fickell might not be the answer but neither was Chryst

Things I miss from Wisconsin Football -Winning 8-10 games every year -Chance to play for the Big Ten Title -Running it down everyones throat -Dominating the trenches -Having the best Defense in college football -Beating Minnesota & Iowa

@badgerbarstool I'll give him one or 2 more years. The players Chryst recruited don't fit what Fickell wants to do. The next 2 recruiting classes will be the turning point for Fick

@coachwiegs @DaChicagoBadger No way he was ready to be a head coach. He's not even a defensive coordinator in the NFL. That said he should still be at the UW and the DC
