This 15 year old young man, George Robinson, seems to have been born in the wrong era. Listen to him sing. What bothers me is that people his age won’t find this as cool as we do. He’s amazing. It’s almost hard to believe he is 15. Frank Sinatra watching from above- “Not bad kid.” How does that voice come from a 15 year old?

The video captures scenes of the rescued farm animals (cows, pigs, goats, horses, etc.) voluntarily lining up and walking into their pens to sleep at exactly the right time every evening — without the owner needing to call them at all. They are incredibly obedient and look so happy, except for Rudolph who was being a little naughty. 💖✨ The highlight is the adorable pair — Winston the mini cow and his little pig best friend — trotting along right behind them.

The baby elephant abandoned by its herd had fallen into depression and lost its will to live… until it met a dog named Duma and they became friends. ❤️❤️

Snorkels at the ready, its bath time at Umani. Thanks to the rains, puddles have grown into swimming pools and the mudbath is deep enough for a dip. Not everyone is a fan of the recent wet weather though: Amali flat out refused to come out of her overnight stable one morning until it had brightened up! We share more stories from our orphan herd in our Keepers' Diaries, hand-written by the orphans' caregivers daily: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/keepers-diaries

A Brazilian fisherman found a Magellanic penguin covered in oil and close to death on a beach in 2011. He cleaned it up, fed it, and nursed it back to health before releasing it. The penguin, later named Dindin, stayed with him for around 11 months, then returned to the wild, but kept coming back over the following years, sometimes staying for months at a time. Magellanic penguins naturally migrate along the coasts of Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay, but researchers say this case is highly unusual, with the bird appearing to recognise and return to the man who saved it.

Elephants always know. Nearly every time a new class of graduates arrives at Ithumba, ex-orphans appear out of the woodwork to welcome them. This time, it was Ndiwa’s turn. We hadn’t seen the ten-year-old (who is now leading a fully wild life) since February — but right on schedule, she turned up at Ithumba to welcome Toto, Mwinzi, and Natibu into the fold. Ndiwa, who made the same move from the Nursery eight years ago, must have remembered all the feelings that come with graduating, because she was gentle and welcoming and understanding.

A student brought her baby to class when she had no other option. Instead of seeing it as a disruption, her professor recognized a young mother doing her best. The professor stepped in, gently took the baby in her arms, and continued teaching the lesson. The student was able to focus and learn without worry. Beautiful example of compassion and support. ❤️
