We're sending out a massive congratulations to Christopher "Toph" Hay as he closes the chapter on an incredible 19-year career as a Fire Service Mechanic! For nearly two decades, Toph has been the driving force behind keeping our vehicles on the run and ready to respond. (1/3)

Following COVID, CFRS have a number of P3 facemasks, disposable overalls, overshoes and cleaning gel/sprays available. Any groups or individuals that would like some then visit the workshops at Tolvaddon between 09:00 and 15:30 and ask for Sean Ross. Ends 31 May 2024

Throughout this cold season our technicians remain on-call to maintain round the clock cover to keep Cornwall’s fire appliances ‘on the run’. Please remember to take extra care when driving out on the roads during this cold weather. 🚨🛠🚒

Over the last few months we’ve been keeping on top of servicing and repairing various defects. This week we’ve had @NewquayCFRS’ ALP in for some LED upgrades on the cage lighting to assist in future incidents! 🚒🛠🚨

We’ve been keeping busy over the last few weeks carrying out defect repairs and servicing. Here’s a little something we did the other week to one of our officer vehicles to allow for improved visibility when on the road. 🚒🛠🚨

Over the last month we’ve been extremely busy keeping on top of defects. We’ve also got @StMawesCFRS’ first away in for gearbox repair and @StAustellCFRS’ operational support in for a head gasket repair. 🚒🚨🛠

Earlier this month we handed @TolvaddonCFRS their first away back after major work had taken place. Pump refurbished and a full service carried out, it’s now back on the run! 🚒🚨🛠

For this week's #ThrowbackThursday we have a 1989 Dodge G17 'Water Carrier' that started life out with @TruroCFRS before relocating to Camborne fire station (@TolvaddonCFRS) until its replacement and disposal in 2003. Picture credits to Tim Ansell.

This week two of our technicians have undergone operator training for our 'Aerial Ladder Platforms' over at @NewquayCFRS. This enables us to operate the appliance should it ever be required of us to do so. They definitely caught some incredible views! 🚒🚨🛠️

For this #ThrowbackThursday we have a 1990 Dodge G13 that served out of @DelaboleCFRS until 2003 where it then became a spare appliance before a short stint with @CornwallPhoenix at @FalmouthCFRS until its eventual disposal in 2007. Picture credits to the Southwest999 group.

Some more thanks to the crew at @CornwallFRS St Austell Fire Station for letting me get some photos of some of their appliances! Featured is the wholetime pump running the "Blue" spare appliance (a Mercedes Atego) and the retained MAN TGL pump.

For this #ThrowbackThursday we have a 1983 Bedford TK, new to @BodminCFRS in 1983 it served until the late 1990s where it then served a short while with @NewquayCFRS before moving onto @trainingcfrs and then finally being disposed off in the 2000s.

It’s been a busy week for us down in the workshops dealing with various defects and carrying out services on different vehicles and equipment. We’ve also undergone breathing apparatus cylinder testing to ensure our cylinders are in good condition for frontline use. 🚒🚨🛠

@129Stu The few that are left will be ‘on the run’ for a couple more years yet!

This week in workshops we’ve been keeping on-top of the various defects that have come in across the county and have also given our spare appliances an interim service! 🚨🛠🚒
