Absurd and inhuman violence is spreading ferociously through the sacred places of the Christian East, profaned by the blasphemy of war and the brutality of business, with no regard for people’s lives, which are considered at most collateral damage of self-interest. But no gain can be worth the life of the weakest, children, or families. No cause can justify the shedding of innocent blood.

It’s outrageous: the U.S. and New Zealand are the only two developed nations that allow drug ads on TV. I joined @RogerMarshallMD to urge FDA to review certain drug ads before they are aired so patients are not misled by the flood of deceptive telehealth & Big Pharma commercials.

During the Super Bowl, we will experience a uniquely American phenomenon: drug ads. These commercials risk deceiving patients about the cost, safety, & effectiveness of meds. War is back in vogue and a zeal for war is spreading. Using my appearance on US @CNN to remind viewers that the "peace plan" under discussion cannot produce the sustainable and fair peace which President Trump promised the world.

Spoke with @ZelenskyyUa and NB8 leaders on the “28-point peace plan.” Any peace initiative must not be based on Ukraine’s capitulation. We fully support President Zelenskyy and Ukraine in their just struggle for freedom. Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and international law are non-negotiable. We stand united with Ukraine — nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine.

This is a bad deal. This “deal” is a gift to Putin. This is clearly what the aggressor wants and requires Ukraine to make massive concessions. It does not improve security for Ukraine, for our allies or for us.

There is a glaringly obvious message for Europe in the 28 point plan: This is the end of the end. We have been told repeatedly and unambiguously that Ukraine’s security, and therefore Europe’s security, will be Europe’s responsibility. And now it is. Entirely. If you are a European leader asking your team to book you on the next flight to Washington to go talk to Daddy, please don’t. Not without a plan, not cap in hand, not humiliating us all in front of the cameras at the Oval office. Europe is our continent, our future is decided here, not there. We aren’t poor, we have options, we can finally decide to assist Ukraine to the full extent of our very extensive capabilities, restore European dignity and defend Europe. Or we can continue to wait for the miracle we now know is not coming.
