@Headteacherchat It doesn’t. That’s not a requirement. Your curriculum model and teaching hour commitment is up to you (within the expectations of the NC).

Anon post: Does anyone know where it states that children must have a full or discrete lesson of English and maths every day? I’m reviewing next year’s timetable and, with so many subjects now being treated as core, I’m puzzled about how to fit everything in without losing a maths or English session.

Great piece on @Ofstednews report card. This ‘improved’ model is an abomination. Trust in the sector has never been lower and school teachers and leaders are haemorrhaging. How will this improve anything?FE News: fenews.co.uk/exclusive/ofst…

I’ll probably get blocked for this (don’t understand X), but if any of you want a broadband upgrade and can get Community Fibre in your area (it’s fibre to the property so as fast as you can get and super reliable), use this link and we get £100 each before 31st Jan.

@Headteacherchat Schools can entice and hold staff even without being able to routinely offer ‘wfm’. The obvious solution to that is better pay and other benefits. But there is no money to do that. And here lies the rub.

@Headteacherchat Possibly. Is this an agreement across the school which support staff can also benefit from? Is it timetable dependent and therefore the equivalent of hitting a lucky streak at the casino? My assumption is that the subtext to this post is should teachers have flexible working?

As a leader, does it matter what time our teachers arrive at or leave our school? As long that they do a good job.

@Headteacherchat I would LOVE that. But nothing I have seen anywhere (including exemplars) has convinced me that it can be more than the luck of the draw currently. Public facing sectors cannot have the same flexibility as others. Cos we’re teaching! So the powers that be need to consider how
