And you'd need to have a highly restricted understanding of the 20th century to think that men weren't free to express their misogynistic views, casual sexism, etc. Until the 60s and 70s it was almost "normal". No one was muzzling men's views.

I agree that people are free to express their opinions, but some opinions (e.g. misogynistic ones) are more noxious and dangerous than others.

@sajohnson1984 @nyaraVT @cycledance As for the increase in plastic surgery, it's a good point but it doesn’t necessarily mean an increased social pressure. It can also be explained by better access to procedures and personal choice. Social influence can play a role, but it’s not the only factor

@_Imum_Max @nyaraVT @cycledance Agreed. But I'm less optimistic about their decline. I'm in my 50s and I've never seen the degree of misogyny we're witnessing now. And the increased numbers of women seeking plastic surgery and implants is at an all-time high. Hardly a sign of progress.

They were socially constructed over time and enforced by older societies because it was convenient. Now that we can think more freely, we can see those stereotypes don't match the reality.

Constantly ignoring how atheism spreads by forcing doctrine in schools is the evidence of a tyrant. I was there when schools were removing the allowance of prayer and even mentioning God back in the late 90s. The constant normalization of secular thinking has also normalized the sexualization and abuse of children at the schools like the trans athlete in the Tennessee school, and the entire Buffalo School district scandal that's currently going on. All because you convince people there is no god. Then where is the demand for morality? And before you say we make our own, just remember that people who have made their own moralities have killed more people in the 20th century than the previous 19 combined.
