Let’s stop overcomplicating it.
The U.S. is negotiating as if the war never happened.
Iran is negotiating as if the war changed everything.
That is the entire problem.
Washington wants Iran to accept terms it could have accepted before the war.
Tehran believes it paid the price of war and earned better terms.
A deal lies somewhere in the middle with slight tilt towards Iran.
