I have not read a new word in long time. Might do a thread of every new word I come across.

The way some of you are donating your money to protein bars when Donkwa is right there is actually fascinating. Same protein, better taste, and less spending on your bank account. We really need to start respecting our local gains."

💜 MAY IS LUPUS AWARENESS MONTH 💜
If you’ve downloaded ‘Before You Say That,’ and you’ve started reading it, I’d love to have you join me for an X Space conversation. We’ll be talking about disability inclusion, the words and phrases in the book that you’ve already started unlearning, what’s been eye-opening for you, and how we can all communicate better going forward. I’m putting together a virtual conversation series where I bring together disability inclusion advocates and people who genuinely care about this work to create awareness, share perspectives, and explore practical ways to make inclusion the norm. If this sounds like something you’d like to be part of, please send me a DM 💜 Link to download the dictionary of disability-inclusive language: selar.com/5r9z11ka8n

In less than 24 hours, ONE HUNDRED people have downloaded Before You Say That.🥹 100 people have chosen to understand better. To speak better and to question the language they’ve always used when they talk about disability. If you’re yet to download Before You Say That, a dictionary of disability-inclusive language that breaks down how 150+ words and phrases we use every day can be harmful or offensive to the disability community if not used correctly, here’s the link: selar.com/5r9z11ka8n It’s totally FREE!

To the non-disabled people who want to do better. The ones who are passionate about disability inclusion but do not know how to start. The ones who care, but sometimes pause mid-sentence and think, “is this the right way to say this to a disabled person?” I wrote this guide for YOU. Because I’ve been there. I stepped into disability inclusion work with good intentions, but without a clear guide on how to communicate with care. I had to learn, unlearn, and relearn many words I assumed were harmless. Before You Say That is the guide I wish I had. It’s simple, clear, and straight to the point. A practical dictionary of disability-inclusive language that helps you navigate everyday conversations without overthinking it, with better understanding, better wording, and more awareness. This book is available for free download, and it has been tested across disability communities to make sure it reflects real experiences, not assumptions. If you read this Volume 1 and have thoughts on how it can be improved for future editions, I’d genuinely love to hear from you. You can reach me via misturah@mistyglamcompany.com with your feedback and thoughts. I hope this book does what I intended it to do which is to help more of us communicate with clarity, respect, and care. Download Before You Say That here 👇🏽 selar.com/5r9z11ka8n Sincerely, Misty 💜

Sometimes Twitter can be depressing. If the nasty comments about TTC were coming from men, I would have said “na their way.” But seeing stupid women who found it easy to get pregnant now thinking they can piss on other women’s struggles is nasty. Who is seeking your pity? When I had my first baby, I was a TTC mum. It took me one year. I joined forums, read people’s stories, researched what to do, used hormonal regulators, tracked my ovulation, visited doctors who refused to take me seriously because I was young , and I still cried at every negative test because I was anxious and tired. For my second, I was still a TTC mum, even though it took 5–6 months. My period stopped, and that alone caused me serious anxiety, still joined those forums online looking for who was exactly in my shoes So no, TTC is not some pity party acronym. It is a community, a language, and a way women find support while going through their journey

The things I’m seeing in these quotes are so annoying especially from women. “It’s the food, shawarma, skincare”. These are the things we fought banger boys about the whole of last year on spreading misinformation and harmful rhetorics about women’s health. Shawarma is not the cause of PCOS. Skincare is not the cause of PCOS. The older generation of women had it but were undiagnosed. Some of us have had it before we even knew what shawarma was. It is very insensitive and distasteful
Anita Vams@a__vanita

I just opened TikTok and saw a 20yr old girl say, ‘Only me PCOS, fatty liver, kidney problems.’ I checked the comments and it was full of girls aged 17–20 saying the same thing. Then I saw another: ‘Only me PCOS, ovarian cysts, enlarged ovaries, fatty liver, 2 years without menstruation… and I just turned 20.’ My goodness

I’ve been quiet… not absent. I was building, protecting, and embracing the greatest blessing of my life. God gave me more than I prayed for a woman who became a mother of three, and three kings to call my own 👑👑👑 My world. My responsibility. My legacy. Alhamdulilah! ✨

@notyourboyizzy @OyinLadun0 You are a dunce. So quick to victim-blame. You missed the part where the victim grew up in the same area and went to the same school with the associate.

Mind the information you give out. Say your papa na big man no mean say you go dey tell everybody. Always stay discreet and humble it helps. Look at his mother’s house when Harrison visited. Does that look like a house of someone that has 200 million laying somewhere? I hope that the law throw the book at these boys, but unfortunately the boy that lost his life literally kpai himself.
