@ryanripley @Scrumdotorg It all boils down to the question whether that person uses the formal power to remove impediments and let the team still self-organize or to micromanage and dominate the team. Sometimes it will work out, other times it will miserably fail. I see it as a high-risk bet.

@walther_jeff @OskaArcher @duhonedd @Greenpeace Sure. Nuclear waste even last for some thousands of years. 🤡 And solar panels have a guarantee of 15 years in the meantime. They run 30+ years with hardly any loss of efficiency. Then they are recycled and replaced by even more efficient ones.

@__bbak @OskaArcher @duhonedd @Greenpeace Yes, it still does. Those "renewables" will wear out in 15 years. Can't keep building at that rate forever. Nuclear lasts for scores of years, 60, 80, 100 maybe more. Renewables are a waste of money in every way. They only make sense for the folks collecting the subsidies.

@OskaArcher @duhonedd @Greenpeace Just look at China. In less than a year they installed more new renewables than the total of the U.S. If such growth rates are possible, it makes no sense to start planning new nuclear power plants now.

@duhonedd @Greenpeace Nuclear can still deliver a big fraction of the energy we all need even if e.g. habitability of equatorial regions drops, agriculture is impacted by altered regional weather, etc. No, it won't be ideal but 25 years of determined effort will alleviate much suffering.

The progress China has made in renewable energy just THIS YEAR makes the entire rest of the world look like it's standing still. I wrote in December that to call China the "world leader in renewable energy" was a colossal understatement. That’s even more true today. Thread 🧵

@tritejoy @KyleTrainEmoji Fun fact: A electric car uses roughly 1/3rd of the energy as compared to a fuel car. Why? 2/3rd of the energy put into a fuel car are used to produce heat, not movement. Hence, it does help; even if the electricity is produced using coal.

@KyleTrainEmoji Fun fact: if you buy a Tesla in China, it doesn't help the environment. Most of the electricity is produced by *extremely* dirty coal plants, so charging your Tesla just contributes CO2 in other ways.

@BuenoForMiami @KyleTrainEmoji That whole tweet is a joke isn't it? Nuclear waste is a problem for some 100k generations to come - and you dare to accuse recyclable solar panels to be less environmentally friendly? Tell me, who's paying for your next holiday trip?

@KyleTrainEmoji Where will all those panels end up? And how many previous resources were used to build it? How long are you grifters going to pretend that solar and wind is actually environmentally friendly? #NuclearEnergy
