Having said all this, I want to acknowledge that there are disabled people (and parents of disabled kids) who don't like the term, or prefer to be called something else.
That's perfectly valid. The issue is accessibility and discrimination.

There is an important difference. The MRT doesn't segregate men and women. Women can choose to be in the general unisex coaches if they want to be.
There is just some coaches designated for women to use, if they feel unsafe.
"Segregation" and "safe spaces" are not the same.

Literally 40 years ago, in 1983 while we first floated the idea of public transport rail to serve KL, the government forecast LRT wait times of only six minutes. The Putrajaya MRT's offpeak 9 minutes might not seem like much, but nobody in 1983 would have been very impressed.

Public transport has gotten fancier but not faster. Barely ten years ago a goal of the Najib-era Government Transformation Programme was to improve the Kelana Jaya LRT headway from 3 mins to 2 mins — here in 2023, the expensive new Putrajaya MRT has far poorer 9 minute headway.

Spent an hour or so with counselling students at Monash earlier today, talking about disability & my lived experience.
I appreciate the fact that lot of the questions were about how they can make services accessible & inclusive for clients.
