I wonder if anyone has published a 'bare minimum cost' of running a professional women's football club, with all the absolute essentials included (insurance, facilities, wages, etc).
Then we'd know a starting point for the FA to support, rather than a token £1m to the WNL

More top-down thinking in women's football from the FA, rather than considering the whole pie. The game's healthy at the top (thanks to debt) but the answer to hoarding young talent can't be B Teams in the WNL

Change 'despite' to 'in order to achieve'
Women's football is relying on debt and the mechanisms of the men's game to get by. The league system isn't sustainable unless you have a wealthy owner/men's club.
Please, the women's game cannot follow the financial pitfalls of the men
