@meena_s_ @CRSD72 He defined resilience as not just about bouncing back after an adverse experience, but as flexible navigation of one’s needs and supports in order to get what one needs without engaging in harmful or unproductive behaviours. BCE’s are those resources and supports people do have.

@meena_s_ @CRSD72 Hi Meena! Thanks for asking! Dr. Ungar presented at the Mental Health in Schools conference in Richmond, BC, yesterday to discuss resilience. He introduced Narayan et. al’s work in BCE’s as a kind of appreciative inquiry into why some people with ACE’s are resilient.
