As a competitor this had to have been one of the most disappointing weekends for myself in quite some time. We went into this event with the utmost confidence just for it to end in a span of less than 24 hours. Majors can be very unforgiving that way. It feels a bit surreal that an awful 24 hours can be what sends you back home after weeks of consistency.
To be blunt we played our worst call of duty of the year so far at the worst time imaginable. I could point out more mistakes in just one series than we had in the 5 matches leading up to this combined. All we can do now is learn to control our nerves and emotions and move forward to make sure we are as coordinated as we've shown we can be and wait for each other in game to make things flow more seamlessly. I know we are capable of it as I see it every day in practice. We will certainly be back and better during Major 2 from the qualifies and more importantly on LAN.
With that being said I'll be staying away from Twitter for the next few months to become to best version of myself I can be. Being on this app has been a plague to my mental health at times even just from browsing the for you page seeing how much hatred is constantly pushed and promoted here. I also will not be running to @RoyalRavens socials anymore as trying to balance that along with coaching/managing/team ops has been overwhelming this season especially when the results aren't going well.
Finally I'd like to congratulate Gentlemates on the Major 1 victory, specifically @Mayhem6. May and @Veohhz have really built something special over there in their short amount of time with the org. In my experience working with Mayhem while he volunteered to help with us last season it was inevitable that he was due a serious opportunity back in the league. If there was any other team in the league I wanted to watch lift the trophy it was certainly his.
I haven't really made a longer post like this in a long time so I appreciate anyone who took the time to actually read through it. Time to go dark and put in the work for Major 2.
