@mellefish Yeah restaurant is supposed to keep the signed receipt in case someone reports fraud. Then your CC company will ask to see the receipt and compare. Technically restaurant is supposed to check the signature against the one on your card when you pay. But it almost never happens.

in case you think privilege doesn’t exist: I’ve gone to bars and drank; driven (and been pulled over); flown domestically on a plane post-9/11; all without ID, and it’s basically been only a minor annoyance. Guess why my experience differs from so many on this thread.
