I wanted less filing and mood boarding and more real-time thinking with media. With @k_kfchan I built a multiplayer spatial research interface we used in private. Now it’s open. Early access to @irlproximity on @AREdotNA. Sketch / organise / scramble / team up. More to follow. Try it and tell us what breaks: irlproximity.com Ill be sharing more about it soon.

@odd_joel Context loss is real. at first glance mosh looks like it solves that. But imo making it easier to stay connected at all times is still optimising for availability, not focus.

fair point — though for me it is less about never stopping and more about not losing context. biggest annoyance with phone SSH is sessions dying when you lock the screen or switch networks. mosh protocol fixes that at the transport layer. been using Moshi for this on iOS — sessions just persist. but yeah the always-available pressure is real

The new wave of apps want you vibe coding forever. Literally. Controlling agents from your phone isn't a power move — it's just removing the last excuse to stop.

Parallelizing nonlinear RNNs is gaining traction! More efficient than transformers; more expressive than linear RNNs. My PhD thesis provides an intro guide to the math (Newton's method) behind the parallelization. Great as a quick-start if you want to explore this new field!

@conductr_ It already did. Numerous times since 1997. If you take his 17 years arguement (iykyk) then its just over 1 gen of cultural influence. Hamming's teachings in this book are worth any engineers time. And the new cover/ form factor is worth a purchase from @stripepress.

Grit isn't a personality trait. It's the downstream effect of a prior decision that made quitting expensive enough that you stopped considering it

Most people hit a wall and diagnose the idea. That's not analysis. That's an exit with a story attached.
