THE MOST ACTIVE PATTERN FOR TORNADOES SINCE 2011 AHEAD A historically active April for severe weather and #tornado outbreaks appears possible this month across the central ant southern Great Plains. This active stretch will begin Friday/Saturday across the Texas Panhandle and southern Plains on Sunday, then ejecting northeast on Monday. A train of large scale troughs are upstream fed by the positive North Pacific Oscillation that has persisted since 2023. Round after round of severe weather and tornadoes appears likely through much of the month of April 2026.

Something very funny about gridlock traffic surrounding one of the most transit accessible places in the country.

@jordanawinkler Well “Urbanist” types took away a ton of lanes here, added traffic lights with long cycles, and made it impossible to get from the Expressway into the Station without a full circuit and 5 lights, screwed up Taxi circulation, etc. What did you think would happen?

The @nysmesonet profiler site in East Hampton, NY sampled winds of +80kt at ~400m AGL just prior to frontal passage last night. You can also see when the strongest winds were transported downward to 100m AGL as the front arrived.

@ecreightonwx I second this. Easily the strongest wind i've ever experienced and for the longest duration. Can we go hurricane hunting?

I've had my fair share of high wind events on the island in the last few years. I don't think any of them had wind as constant and loud as last night prior the frontal passage.

While the forecast may have been too aggressive for the Carolinas, it was definitely warranted for the QLCS that just went through Southeastern PA

Hey Spike you are correct. We call them climate alarmists. I am in the Philly burbs (love your show by the way) and have a website that shows our climate here in Chester County - the data clearly only shows typical cyclical temperature changes. See below which shows the actual Chester County PA raw data since the 1890's and the NOOA post hoc adjustments...this cooling of our past and warming of the current is what climate alarmists use. Feel free to check out my website at chescowx.com

Maybe it's just what I see on my feed but the weather Twitter people seem like they're mostly just invested in terrifying everyone (not accusing local forecasters of this).

NYC surged to a high of 69 today, marking the first time Central Park reached the 60s since *November 9, 2025*. This ends a remarkable stretch of 118 consecutive days below 60F, the longest such stretch since 1981-82 with 122 consecutive days below 60F.

Confused why many storm chasers stayed back from the violent Three Rivers–Union City, Michigan tornado. Some had perfect road options to document a rare, intense Michigan tornado, yet locals ended up filming closer than the chasers.
