Not too worried about this result. JJ said Charlton & Maidenhead were 2 games where 2 different lineups would get the chance to prove themselves. The game against Barnet will be the real test. Do hope we have another CB who can challenge Ogundere’s place lined up though.

Only on for 3 minutes and made an instant impact. Great cut back from Ball for the goal too. A very well worked goal all together. A player who I’ve previously mentioned that it wouldn’t surprise me if he gets recalled and sold to another L2 club in January.

Sasu looked lively for the short amount of time he was on. So hopefully this isn’t anything serious. Has looked good in pre season so far, someone who I would say could challenge to be a regular starter this season. Wonder if we’ll get any news on this.

If this is the case, he’s the exact kind of player we need for this position. His style of play similar to that of JC. Sasu played well in that position against Charlton, so hopefully there will be some good competition between the 2. Just hope he stays injury free.

Think it has to be this man. Definitely someone who I would’ve loved to have seen work his way up the English pyramid. Feel he has some unfinished business to come back at some point. Seems he’s taken his class to Qatar. Scoring 6 goals in 20 games for Al-Wakrah last season.

@KurtJohansson_ Hopefully he’s a player who just hasn’t had the right opportunity yet & will excel when he gets the chance in regular first team football. From the minimal time you’ve seen him, what positives can you take from his style of play?

@afcwreports He came from Brighton with a lot of promise because Rosenior had worked with him but injuries haven't helped the lad. He's 22 & barely played 1st team football. 1 game at Shamrock Rovers 1 game at Brighton 16 on loan at Motherwell 1 game at Hull City. Hopefully do well for you

Good to hear we’re interested in getting another LB in. Signed for Hull City from Brighton in 2023, since signing he’s made 1 appearance in the Fa Cup, where he managed to help himself to an assist. Suffered an injury which kept him out from January to the end of the season.

Slight good news hearing this, however we’ve heard this all before. Does mean if he does well for us there’s a good chance we’ll get to keep him for the whole season. Queue him being called back in January to be sold to another L2 club.

Somewhat surprising this result with the signings Port Vale have made this summer. However being pre-season we can't take this at face value. However hearing injuries to Heneghan & Byers isn't what fans want to hear. No doubt come the season they'll be challenging at the top.

The Maycock x Kelly partnership could be key to allowing us to play to Josh Kelly’s strengths, something we didn’t really utilise last season. A midfield 3 of Reeves, Smith & Maycock will certainly be an improvement from last season. That’s the end of this thread! #afcw

Marcus Hippolyte- Not overly involved, anticipated a couple passes + cut them out. Trialist- Looked a bit nervous, however physically strong & can hold his ground. Happy to drive forward. Ethan Sutcliffe & Morgan Williams- Only got 5 minutes but good to see JJ involving them.
