Circa 1900 mass literacy and the standardisation of writing created modernism as a reaction against homogeneous instrumental language. LLMs will do the same. We stand on the verge of a modernist literary Renaissance and as a result we must urgently fund modernist studies research

Delighted and relieved to see a first finished copy of “The Letters of T. S. Eliot”, volume 10, to be published in late July. My dear thanks to the Eliot Estate & everyone at Faber & Faber who have helped me bring it into being.

I'm honestly sick of the atmosphere here and the current spread of hatred and misinformation. Might still check in every once in a while, but in the meantime please find me in the other place 🦋

Task for the day is to try to decipher my own bad handwriting and implement my edits on the chapter file I'm working on. I'm clearly not an early modernist, you can tell by my poor deciphering skills 🔍

The English Church, or Christ Church, was open for service in 1878 and represented a reference point to the Anglican churchgoers of the region. Now, might it not be the case that Eliot stopped there on the way from his pension to Vittoz and then back? /7
