I tested @keet_io desktop alpha version (peer-to-peer video & text chat, filesharing, built-in Lightning payments app) between the US and Egypt and it was the smoothest and highest-resolution video call I've ever done at that distance. Clear and fast.

Funny and this is going to happen. A thread: 1/ Keet can do everything the other chat apps do without servers (P2P), better quality (data won't be throttled), unlimited file sharing (P2P / swarming)

Very excited to bring Pear Credit, the modular Hypercore based credit ledger protocol we announced yesterday at #planb to Holepunch soon! Future is bright for decentralization and the 🍐2️⃣🍐 marketplace.

@mafintosh @ngoluuduythai37 @pfrazee @keet_io Also on the low-latency side of things there are tons of optimizations planned to take full advantage of the different network qualities of the call participants. Lots of dials to play with!

@ngoluuduythai37 @pfrazee @keet_io @andrewosh Current version is a bit limited due to call needing pretty low latency, but we're working on text-only rooms (v soon!) and that'll scale to 1000s and more. We also have "broadcast" mode in the works where only parts of users share video and that's scalable to 1000s also

I tried out @keet_io, which is the new p2p video chat app by the Hypercore folks I used to work with (@mafintosh @andrewosh and more) and I think it's pretty slick! Nice work, yall!
