These two images were taken by @astro_reid only minutes apart. The stark difference is the result of camera settings. In the first, a longer shutter speed let in much more light from Earth, while the shorter shutter speed in the second emphasizes our planet's nighttime glow.

After watching the movie “Project Hail Mary”, I started reading the novel. It is a great read! I am impressed the author got most of the physics right in the book!

Last day in Puerto Rico. We finally had a chance to try some classic local dishes — Chillo Frito (fried red snapper) and Arroz con Mariscos, a delicious Puerto Rican seafood rice dish.

Old San Juan. The 1st photo is Totem Telúrico, installed in 1992 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Columbus’s arrival. The 3rd photo is Puerta de San Juan. The 4th is Plaza Colón (Plaza Columbus).

El Morro, a Spanish fort in Old San Juan, continued to be developed to reach its current form in 1787. San Juan—founded in 1521—is the second-oldest European-established capital city in the Americas, and the oldest city under U.S. sovereignty.

Crash Boat Beach in western Puerto Rico is one of the best beaches on the island. Perfect spot to watch sunset.

A fun stop at the Museo del Café — picked up some delicious local Puerto Rican coffee! Didn’t know that coffee growing is an important part of Puerto Rico’s economy.

Snorkeling and an outing at Reserva Natural Cabezas de San Juan.

Luquillo Beach. The surtido, Puerto Rican fired snacks, tastes awesome, although a little bit oily.

El Yunque National Forest in Puerto Rico is the only rain forest in the U.S.
