𝗦𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻:
The Pakistani American Psychiatric Association of North America (@papana_org), in collaboration with the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America (@APPNA) Young Physicians Committee (@appnaypc), is sharing a summary of suicide prevention hotlines and mental health support resources available in Pakistan.
This information was compiled through the efforts of a group of dedicated volunteers who attempted to contact and verify the listed resources. The purpose of this initiative is to promote mental health awareness and improve access to verified support services, particularly in light of growing concerns regarding suicide among students and young individuals in Pakistan.
While volunteers made every effort to verify the information at the time of outreach, it is important to note that availability of hotline responses may vary. In some instances, calls may not have been answered during our verification attempts, although the services may be operational and responsive at other times. The information provided reflects the experience of our volunteers during the verification process.
Following consultation with psychiatrists practicing in Pakistan, we emphasize that individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts or engaging in self harm behaviors should seek immediate medical attention. The recommended course of action is to present to the Emergency Department of a tertiary care hospital, where trained medical professionals and psychiatrists are more likely to be available to provide urgent evaluation and care.
This initiative reflects our shared commitment to mental health awareness, suicide prevention, and connecting individuals with appropriate resources and care.
We thank all volunteers and organizations contributing to this important effort.
