Sam Carrick is on his way to Buffalo and could play in the Sabres' game on Saturday. Logan Stanley and Luke Schenn may take a bit longer as they get visas sorted out. Likely next week for them.

@ByMHarrington Mike, those teams have rarely had a prospect in the vein of a Mrtka simply due the fact they're not drafting top ten. They can deal their kids and picks because easier because they're of a lesser pedigree.

This is the trade deadline. Your prospects are there to trade. Elite organizations win because they develop their top picks and spend money to build a team.
Your mindset has to change. It's not about kids. It never has been. That's a Buffalo thing. It hasn't worked. Who is the "next wave" in Tampa, Colorado and Vegas? Come on. Look at their rosters.

@ByMHarrington That’s not how elite teams operate—elite organizations win because they keep the pipeline full. The best clubs (think Tampa, Colorado, Vegas) are always developing the next wave while competing. If you stop caring about picks and prospects, you’re not acting like a contender

That time is over. You worry about winning games right now. That's what elite NHL teams do.

There are plenty of times when I miss Grant Wahl personally, but I frequently miss his work & miss him professionally - the more frequent the intersections between American politics & soccer become, the more I miss that side of him. Just sharing a thought.

You wanna have an argument that he’s a redundant piece and they should’ve used assets elsewhere, that’s fine
But it’s not an overpay. This is absolutely what the market is for a defenseman of his caliber
