@PaulieScanlon Hello! Sorry for the slow response, I don’t make it on here much. Did you figure out what you needed to re:hexasphere.js? I saw your Edge visualization if that is what you were working on at the time - looks great!

@arscan hello from another Scanlon! I wondered if I might be able to pick your brains about hexasphere.js?

My mom took a Procreate class and has been making photo collages with her cats, in case anyone is wondering why I am the way I am.

David Brocek - Goblin's Journey 💚
As much as I love classic Sierra games, this is something I just don't like. Dead Ends. So I basically did all things naturally, even checked walkthrough from time to time. Yet, I got into a dead end. Forgot to take bridle on an insland I can't go back to. Restart it is I guess

@SierraChest @arscan I think the spirit of the old games was to create a challenge, because you most likely had only a couple of games to play, and you could focus on one game for weeks or months. Now, when you can literally play ten different games in day, it's not so appreciated to be "dead ended".

@DavidBrocek @SierraChest I agree. It worked back then. I wouldn't have such fond memories of the games if they were easy (and fair). I do wonder what percentage of Sierra's revenue came from the 1-900 tip line and hint books though ;)

@threejs Examples! I love that the library has so many examples that are maintained in step with the library itself.

@MutableBall I hate software versions. But comparable how? Every versioning scheme I've seen at least allows you to compare for equality (mostly?). Then it comes down what other information you'd like to encode into the version, and it's hard to imagine a one size fits all solution to that.

Have we ever stopped to think that software versions are really bad at just about everything? SEMVER is not the answer it's a symptom of the problem. Versions should be comparable or else what's the point? But we made them complex strings instead of numbers.

@MutableBall What kind of change to the Docker image? I’d think if it’s a change to the Dockerfile that you’ve checked into the repo it’s pretty natural to consider that an upgrade to the application, therefore new version for both. But I suspect this is something different?

So I have a GitHub repo with a release version and a Docker image of that repo with a matching tagged version: both 1.0.0. If I want to make a change to the Docker image alone should I still rev the version of the entire thing?

@lscantron You should try to get him listed as "Faux Bo (uncredited)" on IMDB in case anyone fact checks your claim.

Every time Bo Burnham's on the feed I have to proudly mention that my brother Chris is the Faux Bo at the very beginning of Bo's 2016 special "Make Happy." (He's also a producer I guess but that's not as impressive to me)

@lscantron Kudos to the programmer/designer that took pity on your edge case so it didn't read: "1 people are noticing you"

@lzsthw The 1st is a bit more concise and signals a RESTful API, so without reading documentation API consumers can infer a whole lot (how to list all resources, how to update/delete resources, etc). I personally prefer to design my APIs like 1.question.api.example.com though.

Being the ultra lazy guy I am I've been just using query parameters on my HTTP handlers instead of fancy schmancy paths. Normally you do this: localhost/stream/1/question/10/ I'm doing this: localhost/api/question?question_id=10 I can't remember why we do the 1st one though.

@natfriedman Thanks for publishing this data through an open API, it really is awe inspiring. I took a pass at visualizing the data on a globe in real time as well, with a little cinematic flare (click the 'GitHub Stream' icon): robscanlon.com/encom-boardroo…

So yeah, I was going to write something thoughtful about how this project kick-started my career, how much I learned from it, and how much I'm glad to have the most ridiculous hacker resume ever. But truly the point is: cheers to everyone, and l👀king forward to the next thing!
