Yesterday Governor Murphy signed into law my bill to include duct cleaning as public work subject to the prevailing wage law. This new law will go to ensuring that more workers are given the fair pay that they and their families deserve.

"After everything these veterans have sacrificed for our country, we owe it to them to do all that we can to help them support themselves and their families.”

“This annual allowance increase is long overdue. $750 does not stretch as far as it used to and it is time we acknowledge that by providing our disabled veterans with the financial assistance they have earned.

Yesterday Governor Murphy signed into law my bill to increase allowances paid to war veterans with certain service-connected disabilities from $750 to $1,800 starting next January. Asm Benson, myself, and Asm Mukherji released this joint statement on the bill becoming law:

Today, on National POW/MIA Recognition Day, we honor our servicemen and women held captive and those who never returned home. As we honor their service and sacrifice, we also honor the service and sacrifice of their families who await with hope for their loved ones return.

Happy Labor Day everyone!

International Overdose Awareness Day is held on August 31 every year to mourn those we've lost and acknowledge those still struggling with substance abuse. And two years ago the state Legislature adopted my bill to designate today as the state's official Overdose Awareness Day.

On this day in 1920, the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment was officially certified and women across the country gained the right to vote. Today we celebrate the activists and achievements of the women's rights movement, as we continue their work today.

Today is Ukrainian Independence Day. As a center for Ukrainian-Americans and home to the headquarters of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the United States, I'm proud to support Ukraine and her people in their fight for nationhood and freedom.

Very disappointed with today's Supreme Court ruling. Abortion is healthcare. It should be safe, legal, and accessible.

On Wednesday, Governor Murphy signed my bill A3670. This simple change straightening-out the deadline for primary write-in winners to file paperwork accepting their nomination will make the process easier on the state's election administrators and successful write-in candidates.

For me, the next step is passing the Reproductive Freedom Act so that safe and legal abortion care is accessible and affordable too. I want to assure my constituents that this issue matters to me and I will continue to push for reproductive freedom in the State of New Jersey.

In Trenton, we knew that SCOTUS was on the verge of reversing Roe v. Wade and we got to work. In January, we enacted statute law that now protects New Jerseyans right to access safe and legal abortion care, even if SCOTUS tosses Roe v. Wade.

Earlier this month, I stood beside Governor Phil Murphy as he renewed the push to pass the Reproductive Freedom Act. I’m a proud co-sponsor, and I want it enacted into law so that abortion care is covered under health insurance and is more widely accessible to people who need it.
