📢 Volt Resources Limited (ASX: VRC) is gearing up for its next growth chapter in the #USA 🇺🇸 💡 We’re progressing plans to establish a Customer Application and R&D Centre in Alabama – a new hub designed to fast‑track advanced #graphite materials from lab concept to commercial product for North American customers. 🌍 Four potential #USA locations are under evaluation – #Tuscaloosa, #Birmingham, #Huntsville and #Dothan – each offering access to universities, innovation ecosystems and industrial infrastructure. The Centre will be closely aligned with Volt’s planned #Alabama Graphite Refinery, supporting product development, customer engagement and technology transfer into commercial-scale production. This facility is expected to: ✅ Bring Volt’s technical team closer to US battery and non‑battery customers ✅ Accelerate product sampling, qualification and process optimisation ✅Support IP generation, patent filings and new graphite applications ✅ De‑risk scale‑up of Volt’s low‑cost, hydrofluoric acid‑free purification technology into the planned Alabama refinery DFS currently underway. 🏢Site selection is in progress, with a focus on R&D suitability, pilot-plant capability, talent attraction and the availability of state and local incentives. The US has built a price floor system for critical minerals and is pitching it to allies and partners. Beyond that though, details are scarce. A recent article from Rare Earth Exchange highlights how China’s dominance in processing across key critical minerals creates strategic risk, with graphite front and centre as the key ingredient for lithium‑ion battery anodes. 🏭 For the US, the strategic gap is clear: building local refining capacity matters as much as developing new mines. That’s why Volt Resources is pursuing an upstream-to-downstream graphite strategy to support ex‑China battery materials supply chains. 🌍 On the upstream side, Volt’s Bunyu Graphite Project in Tanzania is a large natural graphite asset, with a Mineral Resource of 406Mt @ 5% TGC (20.6Mt of contained graphite). Bunyu is also positioned close to infrastructure, including access to the deep-water port of Mtwara. 🌍 Volt also has an established graphite operating asset in Europe through its 70% owned Zavalievsky Graphite (Ukraine), a long-life graphite business with mine and processing facilities in operation since 1934. ➡️ On the downstream side, Volt’s ambition is to develop a US-based Graphite Refinery (contingent on financing) and industrialise a low‑cost purification approach designed to produce high‑purity graphite (HPG) and ultimately ultra‑high‑purity products (UHPG) for battery and industrial markets. This has been a landmark year as Volt advanced its position as a producer of critical minerals across the US, Europe and Africa. In December 2025, Volt reached a historic milestone by executing a Binding Term Sheet with Unbounded Opportunities Fund SPC, an international investment fund with US $700 million in assets under management, for the funding and development of the Bunyu Graphite Mine and processing plant in Tanzania. The agreement provides a framework for US $11.1 million equity investment by UOF and outlines joint work programs focused on increasing annual production rates while improving capital efficiency and operating costs. Furthermore, UOF has also expressed interest in Volt’s downstream graphite refining strategy and facilitating the development of this business. Alongside ongoing operations at the Ukraine Graphite Refinery, Volt took decisive steps in 2025 to establish a US-based graphite refinery, completing a Scoping Study in June that confirmed strong project economics and commenced a Definitive Feasibility Study in December. We strengthened relationships with US industry and government-backed consortia, expanded our US team, and demonstrated the success of our bench-scale production of Ultra-High-Purity Graphite via our patent-pending, HF-free purification process. Our Zavalievsky Graphite operation delivered a successful production campaign of over 800 tonnes of graphite concentrate and continued supplying our customers across Japan, Europe, and to a new North American customer, despite the ongoing war. All this was accomplished, while achieving over 75% reduction in net loss, over the last three years, through continued strict cost discipline.
