I think I now understand the Deco and Laporta Dilemma and I am sorry i poorly criticized them without full knowledge of the situation. I sincerely apologize. Looking closely, I think Barcelona is trying to cap the Julián Álvarez deal at €120m because that’s what fits our wage structure and FFP limits. After Lewandowski’s departure freed up around €38m per year in wages and FFP space, Barça can realistically accommodate Álvarez. His reported salary is around €15m per year, and if you amortize a €120m transfer fee over a five year contract, that’s €24m per year. €24m + €15m = €39m annually. That’s why Barça are reluctant to go beyond €120m. It’s not that the club doesn’t have the money to pay a higher transfer fee; it’s that the total annual cost becomes much harder to fit within the squad’s financial structure. For example, if Barcelona paid €150m and spread it over five years, the amortization alone would be €30m per year. Add Álvarez’s €15m salary and you’re looking at roughly €45m annually for one player. That’s a huge commitment and could create problems with registration and squad planning. The more I look at it, the more I understand why Deco and Laporta are reportedly drawing the line at €120m. It’s not about lacking the money, it’s about protecting the wage bill and staying within financial limits. I think at this point . I have to chill and let them do their work. Then things are cheaper. The uber that will normally cost 10 million naira here in Lagos is 2,500 here. I’ve never seen life lived like this before. I see clear road everywhere.
