I respect De Laurentiis a lot. But I don't agree with him. If you want 40 minutes of nonstop football, it already exists in futsal. If you want 36 minutes of spectacle and goals, it already exists. It is called beach soccer. We do not need to redesign the main game. It is okay as is. De Laurentiis, the president of Napoli, has proposed reducing football to 25 minutes each half, removing yellow cards and red cards, and reengineering the sport around what he believes the younger generation wants. His argument is that Gen Z and Gen Alpha were raised on PlayStation, TikTok and instant highlights, and that 90 minutes is too long for their attention spans. I disagree. And not just on the football. On the logic. The premise that young people cannot sustain attention for 90 minutes is not a reason to shorten the game. It is a reason to ask why the game is not compelling enough to hold them. Those are different problems with different solutions. A bad match played in 50 minutes is still a bad match. You have not fixed anything. You have just made it shorter. The formats De Laurentiis is reaching for already exist and already thrive. Futsal runs on two periods of 20 minutes with a stopped clock, producing intense, technical, high-scoring football. Beach soccer plays three periods of 12 minutes with even more goals and spectacle built into the format by design. Both exist and they have audiences. Neither required anyone to dismantle the 11-a-side game to create them. Basketball did not change its NBA format to compete with 3x3. Cricket did not abolish Test matches to accommodate T20. Rugby did not replace the 15-a-side game with Sevens. The short format found its own space. The original kept its identity. That is how it is supposed to work. And abut the yellow/red card, IFAB Law 12 governs fouls and misconduct. It exists not just to manage the flow of a game but to protect players. The yellow card is a formal warning with legal consequences for repeat behaviour. The red card is a mandatory sanction for violent conduct, serious foul play, deliberate handball denying a goal, and a defined list of offences that the law treats as non-negotiable. They are not devices for entertainment. They are the disciplinary framework that stands between a football match and chaos. Removing them is removing the legal consequence for a player who pulls an opponent's hair with force, two-foots someone from behind, or deliberately elbows a player in the face. What replaces it? De Laurentiis has not said. And that silence is the loudest part of his proposal. The 90-minute game does not need to become something else to survive. It needs better quality, better officiating, better time-wasting rules, and better broadcasting. Those are the conversations worth having. My name is Ajoje. "I will reduce from 45 minutes each half to 25 minutes.” Aurelio De Laurentiis, owner of Napoli, believes football will lose the younger generation. But he has ideas. Lots of them, including no red and yellow cards and changing the rules so there are more goals...

This is not bad luck. Bad luck happens once or twice. What Barcelona have been doing in the Champions League for a decade is a pattern, and patterns have explanations. Since their last European trophy in 2015, Barcelona have played ten Champions League campaigns. They have not won a single one. They have not even got to the final in any They have collapsed from winning positions against Roma and Liverpool. They lost 8-2 to Bayern Munich in a single-leg quarter-final. And tonight, they added another chapter. They lost 2-0 at home to Atletico Madrid in the first leg, won 2-1 at the Metropolitano, and went out 3-2 on aggregate. Against the same Atletico side that knocked them out in 2016. Since the beginning of last season, no club in the Champions League has conceded more goals than Barcelona. 43 before tonight. 45 by the final whistle. They had conceded in 14 consecutive Champions League matches going into this second leg, and they extended that run. No Spanish side has ever gone 15 Champions League games without a clean sheet. Barcelona have now done it. A club that built its identity on controlling games and controlling spaces cannot keep the ball out of its own net in Europe's biggest competition. And that is the identity crisis at the heart of this. Barcelona are not a bad team. They are nine points clear at the top of La Liga. They score freely, they press intelligently, and Lamine Yamal is one of the best players on the planet. But the Champions League has repeatedly exposed something that domestic football hides. Against teams who have specifically prepared to stop them, who defend deep, transition fast, and punish the spaces Barcelona's high line leaves behind, the philosophy breaks down. The best European sides adapt. They win ugly when ugly is required. They manage games. They hold leads. Barcelona have been trying to win the Champions League the Barcelona way for ten years. The Champions League keeps winning back. Let me know what you think. My name is Ajoje. I am a FIFA Licensed Agent and International Sports Lawyer. I write on the Law and Business of Football, a lot. @Obumnemetg Any financial problem from home that gets to my ear means one thing. They can't handle it and I step in with my 2 cents if I have one. I won't forgive myself if I have some to spare and I didn't. My dad would lay his life for us to have a better one. My mum would sell her clothes

Did this shii last week. Called my dad to check on him. He was telling me the situation of things on a particular matter and it required money to solve. it was urgent and he wasn’t telling me to intervene but I knew it was bothering him. I had like about the same exact amount in my account, just a little bit above it. After the call I sent the money to them. My brother, I’d do it again and again if possible. I cannot be alive and have a 2% chance to help my family and I won’t do it. If God says that I will go broke entirely by doing that so be it.
